Launch-day checklist

1. 1Pick your editionThe Standard Edition is the full game. The Ultimate Edition adds premium vehicles, weapons, apparel, mod shops, salons and side content spread through the story. See every Ultimate Edition item and where to find it in our Ultimate Edition guide.
2. 2Buy before November 20 for the pre-order bonusEvery pre-order or purchase made before November 20 gets the Vintage Vice City Pack: the two-tone ’55 Vapid Stanier with a garage by Ocean Beach, retro outfits and hairstyles, and a tropical weapon pattern.
3. 3Go digital if you want to pre-loadDigital pre-orders can start downloading on November 12, so the game is ready the moment it unlocks. Boxed copies also go on sale November 12, but the box holds a download code, not a disc install.
4. 4Clear space on your consoleRockstar hasn't announced the install size yet. Free up more than you think you'll need, and use an internal or expansion SSD rather than slow external storage. Our gear page has a setup checker for storage, TV and controller.
5. 5Claim your free month of GTA+Digital pre-orders include a free month of GTA+. It's tied to GTA Online, so check how to redeem it on your platform's store.
6. 6Check the unlock timeRockstar has confirmed the date, not a per-region unlock time. Our countdown targets local midnight; watch the official channels on launch week for exact times.
7. 7Set up TrackerVICreate a free account so your collectibles, map pins, garage and guide progress sync between your phone and computer. Then pin the map to your phone's home screen for a second screen next to the TV.

Tap a step to tick it off. Your progress saves on this device, and syncs if you're signed in.
